Thank you for your interest in my photography. It has been a fun journey becoming a small business owner and it’s because of people like you that I’ve been able to succeed in a very saturated market. If you would like to learn how I got to where I am today please enjoy reading a little of my history.

I went to college at the University of North Florida and attained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design. Several electives helped to be an introduction to photography but it would be many years before I considered it to be anything more than a hobby.

In 2004 I went to work for Disney and was (deep breath): a Lifeguard, “Astro Attendant” at Star Tours, Parade Puppeteer at the Tapestry of Dreams parade, LG Coordinator, LG manager, Training Coordinator at 12 different hotels, “Castaway” on Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, Online Training IT fixer guy, and boat captain and manager (600 passenger ferry boats plus a fleet of other vessels!). Working for Disney provided a once in a lifetime opportunity simply not available anywhere else.

After eight years of full-time Magic Work I was ready for a new “independent” challenge.  I decided to return home with my wife Lydia and open up my own photography studio at the FJ Black Business center!

I joined my local photography guild (Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild aka TPPG) as well as the State and National organizations (FPP and PPA). I would later join the board of directors on both TPPG and FPP.  I started competing in local, state and national competitions and even took home a couple of top prizes! My images can be seen both in print and digital format over a wide range of subject matters.

After establishing a successful photography venture on my own I was invited to come work for the State of Florida as Governor Ron DeSantis’ personal photographer. Over the course of a year and a half I traveled all over Florida on a daily basis recording an amazing beginning to the Governors first term.

In the summer of 2020 I returned to my freelancing roots to focus on my personal business as well as my growing family.

I think variety is key when working in an artistic realm.  If you’re looking for rich and dynamic imagery from a photographer who is quick in turn around and easy to work with I would love to speak with you!
