Mileage mule – privacy Policy

Last updated: April 12, 2026

Overview

Mileage Mule is a mileage tracking app built for individuals and small business owners. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Location Data Mileage Mule uses your device’s GPS to detect and measure trips. When auto-tracking is enabled, location data is collected in the background. Location data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.

Trip Data Trip records including dates, distances, addresses, and business notes are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.

Purchase Information If you subscribe to Mileage Mule Pro, purchase transactions are processed through Apple’s App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat may collect anonymous purchase data in accordance with their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Notifications If you grant notification permissions, we send local notifications when trips are automatically detected and saved. No notification data is transmitted to external servers.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers
  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs
  • We do not store your location data on any server
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, or any other device data

Data Storage

All trip data is stored locally on your iPhone using SQLite. Data is included in your iCloud backup if you have iCloud backup enabled on your device. Deleting the app permanently removes all locally stored data.

Location Permission

Mileage Mule requires “Always” location permission for automatic trip detection. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Mileage Mule. Revoking location access will disable automatic trip detection but manual trip logging will continue to work.

Children’s Privacy

Mileage Mule is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
