About a month back the Leon County Sherriff’s called me up in need of new head shots. Business headshots for various groups are one of my favorite things to shoot as it makes for a complete package of images that showcase a team in a simple presentation. For this shoot we had two days to cover. This first was done on location at the Sherriff’s Department’s main headquorters and the second was at my studio in order to catch any one missing from the first day.
Part of being a professional photographer is the ability to replicate lighting, either from other photographer who a client like, or of themselves in order to reproduce results that are cohesive with projects you have already completed.
For this project I used two Alienbee 800’s. One was paired with a beauty dish and the other acted as a background fill/hair light. to lighten the shadows under their eye’s, nose and chin I used a Westcott Eyelighter which is quickly becoming one of my favorite reflectors for its portability and ease of use. Camera was my ever trusty Nikon D810 paired with the Nikor 70-200 2.8
