Thanks for visiting! As mentioned on my business blog, I have recently rebuilt my website and intend to post more to social media on my day to day and week to week events. This is the “personal” side or rather the “get to know Steve as a photographer”. I’ll be posting behind the scenes and random photography related events that don’t necessarily fit into a normal business category that you might see in the other blog and on the main site.
It seems fitting to start this project today as its the first time I have been back to the studio since Hurricane Irma blew through Florida. I’m very happy to say that the studio and house all came through brilliantly! We went about 27 hours without power but the storm brought in delightful cool air and thus we didn’t have to suffer too much. Tallahassee faired very well over all. I know there are still areas that are without power but I really think we dodge a bullet considering how large and potentially dangerous this storm was. My thoughts are with the rest of Florida and Georgia as over 6 million people were displaced, evacuated and/or are with out power. It was a huge event but hopefully everyone can snap back to a more normal day to day life within a couple weeks.
The featured picture is one a threw together on the penultimate day before Irma struck. It was actually a beautiful day when I hopped up on the car, chainsaw in hand! Lots of filtering and composites later got us the stormy look. Thanks Lydia (my dear wife!) for triggering the camera to make this happen!
